If you want to experience the authentic atmosphere of a Japanese market that’s not just a tourist spot but a place where locals shop, I recommend stopping by Osaka Kizu Wholesale Market. This market is close to Daikokucho Station (about a 3-minute walk) and is one of the largest wholesale markets in Japan.
Here, you’ll find a wide variety of fresh goods, including seafood like oysters, snow crabs, and squid, as well as seasonal fruits and vegetables, all priced much cheaper than regular supermarkets.
If you come in the morning (recommended between 8:30–10:30 AM), you’ll see the lively market atmosphere. Shops open from 6 AM and close around 11 AM.
There are also fresh food stalls to enjoy, such as kaisendon (rice bowls topped with fresh sashimi) and other seafood restaurants that use ingredients directly from the market.
If you visit Osaka and want to experience local life while tasting delicious fresh food, I highly recommend stopping here. You won’t be disappointed! #GetDiscountsWithoutLuck
