Tsutenkaku is located in Naniwa Ward, Osaka City, and is a landmark of Shinsekai. The observation deck offers a panoramic view of Osaka. Here are the main transportation options to help you get there easily!
From the city center
Take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line from Umeda or Namba to "Dobutsuen-mae Station," exit 1, then walk about 5-7 minutes. The ride takes about 15-20 minutes, and the fare is 230-280 yen. Alternatively, take the JR Loop Line to "Shin-Imamiya Station," exit east, then walk about 5 minutes; the fare is about 180 yen. You can also take the Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line to "Ebisucho Station," then walk about 3 minutes.
From Kansai Airport
Take the JR Kansai Airport Rapid Service to "Shin-Imamiya Station," about 50 minutes, costing around 1,060 yen. Or take the Nankai Electric Railway to "Shin-Imamiya Station," about 45 minutes, costing around 920 yen. Limousine buses go to Namba or Tennoji, then transfer to the subway; the trip takes about 60 minutes and costs about 1,550 yen.
From Kyoto and Kobe
From Kyoto, take the JR Special Rapid Service to Osaka Station, then transfer to the Loop Line to "Shin-Imamiya Station," about 45 minutes, costing about 970 yen. From Kobe, take the JR Special Rapid Service to Osaka Station, then transfer to the Loop Line; the trip takes about 40 minutes and costs about 810 yen.
Practical Tips
It’s recommended to use Google Maps for real-time schedules. The Osaka Amazing Pass allows unlimited subway rides and free entry to the Tsutenkaku observation deck (9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, adult 900 yen), which is a great deal. The surrounding Shinsekai area has kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) shops and retro stores, perfect for experiencing Osaka’s local vibe. It’s even more charming when lit up at night.
