Crossing Dimensions! il Centrino! Michelin-Quality Italian Animated-Style Cuisine Hidden in a Residential Area of Osaka

Bored at home browsing websites, I unexpectedly discovered il Centrino like unlocking a hidden quest! As one of the rare fine dining spots in Osaka where you can get a same-day reservation, the chef trained in Tokyo and Italy didn’t raise my expectations too high, but it turned out to be a blind box full of surprises!

The restaurant is tucked away in a residential area, and stepping inside feels like entering a cozy shop straight out of an animation. The appetizers Granchio·Rapa cauliflower with crab meat and Seppia·Cavolfiore squid savory tart look like exquisite magical treats from an anime, refreshing and appetizing, with chewy squid and crispy tart crust. Guanciale di Manzo Salsa Giardino beef cheek with salsa tastes like the five-spice beef from a magical recipe; Molluchi Melanzane Mozzarella Caciale freshly baked focaccia with ark shell and other ingredients tastes like it’s been enchanted with a delicious spell.

Polpo Trapani feels like a little animated interlude, with peas and cucumbers stealing the spotlight and overshadowing the octopus flavor. But the following dishes really turn up the volume! Cernia Zafferano grouper with crispy skin and tender meat, the sauce is like a finishing magical touch; Astice Bottarga Limone tomato lobster pasta is full of the warmth of home; Astice Riccio Di mare is the ultimate showstopper! Sea urchin and lobster blend together, and the rich shrimp roe flavor hits the taste buds hard. Anguiila Vitello Salvia’s Agnolotti are like little elf dumplings, bursting with eel aroma; Manzo Asparagi Tartufo wagyu beef and asparagus perform steadily (in Japan, wagyu main courses appear with high probability [uhR]). Mango Panna cotta is like a sweet Easter egg in an animation, refreshing and cleansing the palate.

The 18,000 yen set uses high-quality ingredients but the cost performance isn’t stunning, and the 8,000 yen wine pairing was somewhat of a “fail.” However, the private room on the second floor is simply a dating sanctuary straight out of an anime, with the atmosphere fully charged! Next time, I definitely want to bring someone special to unlock this dimensional delicacy~
