Review of traveling in Osaka, the city of smiles and mouthwatering delights
Osaka is a city full of color, fun, and the warmth of its people. It’s one of the cities I fell in love with from the very first step I took here. This place is not just an ordinary tourist city but one that makes your heart swell with smiles and delicious food that melts your soul.
This time, I want to invite everyone to experience the charm of Osaka through stories of amazing food, must-visit attractions, and the city’s cuteness that will make everyone fall in love.
⸻
Welcomed with impressions at Kansai Airport
The moment I got off the plane at Kansai Airport, the first thing that impressed me was the cleanliness and orderliness here, along with the modern and easy-to-understand public transportation system.
Buying a rechargeable ICOCA card for traveling around Osaka is very easy—just tap the card to get on trains or buses, making travel hassle-free and very comfortable.
⸻
Dotonbori, the hub of fun and deliciousness in the city center
Dotonbori represents the lively spirit of Osaka, with beautiful neon lights and the famous Glico Man sign that everyone must stop to take a photo with.
This place is full of local restaurants you shouldn’t miss, especially the hot, round “Takoyaki” balls filled with fresh octopus, slightly crispy on the outside, topped with rich sauce and mayonnaise, and the fragrant scent of dried fish flakes wafting in the air.
Another favorite dish is “Okonomiyaki,” or Japanese pizza, with soft batter mixed with cabbage, seafood, or pork, drizzled with a sweet and savory sauce that perfectly blends the flavors.
Walking through the small alleys, you’ll find fresh sushi shops that are warm and full of the owners’ smiles, making you feel like you’re eating at a friend’s home.
⸻
Universal Studios Japan, a magical land everyone must love
USJ is a place that made me feel like a kid again. The Harry Potter zone is incredibly realistic, with the huge Hogwarts castle and Hogsmeade village full of charming little details.
Minion Park is colorful and full of cuteness, while Super Nintendo World feels like stepping into a real game world, with exciting rides and lots of fun activities.
Although there are some queues, every minute spent in this theme park is truly worth it.
⸻
Enjoy shopping at Shinsaibashi and Tenjinbashi-suji
Shinsaibashi and Tenjinbashi-suji streets are the longest and liveliest shopping streets in Osaka, filled with cute fashion stores, cafes, and plenty of souvenirs.
I love browsing for sweet-patterned stationery, adorable notebooks, and unique stylish clothes.
The warm and friendly atmosphere makes shopping so enjoyable that you lose track of time.
⸻
Cute cafes and melt-in-your-mouth desserts
Osaka has many cute themed cafes, from cat cafes to dessert cafes, and rich matcha green tea spots.
I enjoy sipping hot green tea with beautifully decorated parfaits that look like works of art. It’s a moment that feels like relaxing at a friend’s home who loves cuteness and sweets.
⸻
Osaka Castle, a symbol of history and nature
Osaka Castle is a spot I never miss visiting, with its beautiful architecture and the shady gardens around it.
Walking and taking photos in the peaceful atmosphere, especially during cherry blossom season or the stunning autumn foliage, feels like stepping into a painting.
⸻
Kuromon Market, deliciousness in a homey atmosphere
Kuromon Market is a paradise for seafood lovers, with grilled scallops, fresh sashimi, and many snacks.
Walking and tasting food in the lively and friendly atmosphere feels like strolling through a friend’s home full of delicious treats.
⸻
City views from Umeda Sky Building
Umeda Sky Building has a 360-degree observation deck that offers a beautiful view of Osaka, especially at night when the lights sparkle like stars.
Walking on the sky bridge with the cool breeze is a very impressive experience.
⸻
Easy and convenient transportation
Traveling in Osaka with the ICOCA card is very easy—just tap the card to get on trains, with clear English signs and helpful staff, so there’s no worry about getting lost.
⸻
Warm friendships from the people of Osaka
Osaka people are lovely and friendly. Even if their English isn’t fluent, everyone tries to help with smiles and kindness.
It feels like making new friends abroad who are always ready to help.
⸻
Cute souvenirs you must not miss
Don’t forget to buy unique-flavored KitKats, Japanese sweets, cartoon models, and cute stationery from Don Quijote or Loft.
These souvenirs are not just sweets or keepsakes but memories and love from Osaka that I want to keep forever.
⸻
Summary of impressions
Osaka is a city that fills the heart with happiness, fun, delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and the smiles of its people.
This trip made me realize that happiness isn’t far away. Just traveling somewhere filled with love, warmth, and delicious food is enough to make your heart swell.
Osaka… my second home that I will love forever 💖🍡🏯
