Review of traveling in Osaka, the city of fun and heart-melting smiles
Osaka, the third largest city in Japan,
which many might overlook because it’s quietly under the shadow of Tokyo or Kyoto. But this is it… Osaka is a city full of color, vibrancy,
and authentic Japanese charm that made me fall in love from the very first step I set foot here.
⸻
Namba & Dotonbori: The hub of fun and delicious food
Namba and Dotonbori districts are the heart of Osaka.
Just stepping out of the train station, you’ll be greeted by colorful neon lights, the aroma of food filling the walkways, and lively chatter everywhere.
What I never miss is “Takoyaki,” round balls crispy on the outside and soft inside,
filled with big pieces of squid, topped with sweet and savory sauce and Japanese-style mayonnaise, perfectly sweet and tangy. One bite is pure bliss.
I also tried “Okonomiyaki,” or Japanese pizza, with soft batter mixed with vegetables and meat, topped with a rich, unique sauce. The taste is so good… I couldn’t stop eating!
At night by the Dotonbori canal, the atmosphere is super romantic.
The lights reflecting on the water, the vibrant colors make you feel like you’re in a movie.
⸻
Shinsaibashi: A cute shopping street that melts your heart
Just a few minutes’ walk from Dotonbori, you’ll find Shinsaibashi,
a long shopping street full of chic fashion stores, cute stationery shops, and adorable Japanese-style cafes.
I enjoyed walking around, picking up beautiful stickers, pastel-colored pens,
and cute patterned notebooks, filling my hands. The cafes here are a paradise for dessert lovers, offering green tea cakes and cute Japanese sweets that are so delicious you want to chill there for a long time.
⸻
Osaka Castle: The city’s symbol, beautiful and peaceful
Osaka Castle impressed me a lot because besides the beautiful architecture, the surrounding atmosphere is peaceful,
with wide gardens and shady trees, perfect for real relaxation.
I had a picnic under a big tree, eating a bento box I bought,
and enjoyed a 360-degree city view from the top of the castle, so beautiful it almost took my breath away.
⸻
Universal Studios Japan: A magical world that makes your heart race
USJ is one of the highlights of this trip.
I was so excited to enter the Harry Potter zone, stroll through Hogsmeade village, sip sweet and smooth Butterbeer, and enjoy thrilling rides that made my heart pound.
The Minion zone is full of cuteness and brightness.
The laughter and colors of the park made me smile nonstop from the first step until I left.
⸻
Kuromon Market: A food lover’s paradise
Kuromon Market is a place full of fresh food and authentic Japanese flavors.
I tasted wagyu beef that melted in my mouth, grilled scallops with buttery garlic that were sweet and juicy, and fresh sushi that made me feel like I was floating.
Fresh fruits like big, sweet strawberries
were another impressive treat not to be missed.
⸻
Osaka: A city that warms the heart
Osaka is not just a city with beautiful landmarks or delicious food, but a city that gives a warm and friendly feeling to everyone.
People smile and genuinely help each other, making me feel at home.
Here, I learned that happiness doesn’t have to be complicated. Just eating delicious food,
being with loved ones, and sharing smiles is enough.
⸻
Summary of impressions
Osaka is a complete city with fun, cuteness, warmth, and delicious food that you want to share. If you’re planning a trip to Japan, don’t forget to stop by Osaka. This place will make you fall in love from the very first touch.
