I went on a drive to Oshino Hakkai in Yamanashi Prefecture 🤗
Oshino Hakkai is not that well known among Japanese people, but it's a very popular place among foreigners!
It's also one of the constituent assets of the World Heritage site Mt. Fuji ☺️💖
It's about an hour and 35 minutes from Tokyo, so it's a great spot to go for a drive on the weekend 🚗✨
Although it's called Hakkai, it's not the sea, it's a spring-fed pond! It is made up of eight ponds: Deguchi Pond, Okama Pond, Sokonuki Pond, Choshi Pond, Waku Pond, Nigori Pond, Kagami Pond, and Shobu Pond.
Deguchi Pond is located a little away from the other ponds, and it is said that Deguchi Pond is likened to the North Star and the other ponds to the Big Dipper.
Each pond has its own story, and it is fun to walk around and look at it.
You can see very beautiful and pretty scenery, such as Kagami Pond, where Mt. Fuji is reflected upside down, and Waku Pond, which NASA used for experiments to make snow in space.
There are also shops for eating around, so it is recommended for a fun time.
