A Day in Otaru ❄️🌊

🇯🇵Otaru, an old port city in western Hokkaido, is charming with its retro and romantic atmosphere. The city used to be an important trading center in the early 20th century, especially in the fishing and shipping industries, so there are many traces of Western architecture and old warehouses. Today, Otaru is famous for its high-quality glass craftsmanship and is also known as the center of music box production in Japan. In winter, the falling snow makes the city look like a scene from a fairy tale, making it a popular destination for travelers who want to experience the charm of Hokkaido.

🚊 Travel between cities: On the way there, we took the train from Sapporo Station to Otaru Station (🟢Hakodate line) using the JR Hokkaido Rail Pass. The journey took 49 minutes. On the way back, we took the train from Minami Otaru Station to Sapporo Station.
