Spring snow in Otaru - Stroll along the Otaru Canal and Sakaimachi-dori Shopping Street

Otaru was a bit cold with a little snow from time to time. After checking into the hotel, I quickly put on some warm clothes before going out. It took about ten minutes to walk from the hotel across from Otaru Station to the Otaru Canal.

This is my second time in Otaru. The Otaru Canal is beautiful. Although it is only a few hundred meters long, the warehouses and historical buildings from the Taisho period are lined up one after another. No matter which section you enter, it is picturesque. With the blessing of the snow, it is even more romantic and intoxicating.
The surprise is that there is still a small section of snow lanterns, which are left over from the Snow Lantern Festival in February. It is really beautiful when lit up at night.

There are various specialty shops in Sakaimachi-dori Shopping Street where you can stroll slowly. The steam clock at the end of the street will puff every fifteen minutes. Remember to stop and listen to the whistle and the clear and pleasant music. However, it may not be so punctual because it is so old.

The snowy ground is slippery, so walk carefully to avoid falling.
