Top of the Highway (Wuling)

Wuling, located north of Kunyang, occupies the saddle between Hehuan Peak and East Peak. At 3,275 meters above sea level, it's the highest point in Taiwan accessible by car. With only a partial obstruction on the west side, the surrounding mountain range offers sweeping views. The eastern observation deck offers an excellent view of the towering Qilai Mountains and the sweeping bamboo grass slopes of Hehuan Mountain. The views are magnificent and expansive, and at dawn and dusk, the swirling clouds gently soothe the traveler's heart.

Additionally, this area offers clear, cool skies, a chance to admire the vibrant colors of light and shadows adorning the landscape, and nighttime stargazing and moongazing. Summer blossoms and winter snow are breathtakingly beautiful.

You can take the Nantou Bus to Cingjing Farm. Nantou Bus runs daily from the Cingjing Farm National Guesthouse to the Hehuanshan Visitor Center or Xiaofengkou. Contact numbers for Nantou Bus are 049-2984031 or 049-2996147.
[Driving]
Wuling is located at kilometer 31.5 on Provincial Highway 14A. From Taroko, take Provincial Highway 8 to Dayuling, then transfer to Provincial Highway 14A and continue through Xiaofengkou and Shimenshan to reach Wuling.
