Shiga Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine

There are several shrines called Hiyoshi Taisha throughout Japan, but the one in Shiga Prefecture is said to be the head shrine of all the Hiyoshi Taisha shrines in Japan. Originally written as Hiyoshi, it was called "Hiei," but at some point it started to be called "Hiyoshi."

We went there around 5pm, so it was a little dark and creepy, but being in the mountains, I think it's a good place to enjoy the shrine in peace.
