[Shiga] Power spot: Enryakuji Temple on Mount Hiei

Although Mount Hiei Enryakuji Temple is registered in Shiga, if you look at Mount Hiei as a whole, it is on the border between Kyoto and Shiga prefectures, so you can choose between two routes to get to Mount Hiei Enryakuji Temple: Kyoto or Shiga.

On the route from Shiga, you will use the Sakamoto Cablecar to climb Mount Hiei.

It takes about 11 minutes to reach the top, and the advantage of choosing this route is that you will be greeted with a panoramic view of Mount Hiei and Lake Biwa when you arrive.

Mount Hiei has three areas: Dodo, Saito, and Yokawa.

You can walk to Dodo, but the other areas are a bit far away, so we recommend taking the bus.
