Praying to Luang Por Sukhothai at Wat Yai Sawang Arom

🏘 Wat Yai Sawang Arom was originally built around 1963 BE and was initially named Wat Noi due to its location by the Bang Noi Canal. Later, it was relocated to its current site and renamed Wat Yai Ying.
🙏🏽 During the reign of King Rama V, the name was changed to Wat Yai Bang Noi.
🏡🎄 In 1920 BE, Prince Vajirananavarorasa, the Supreme Patriarch, stayed temporarily at the residence within the temple. He was pleased with the residence, feeling serene and experiencing improved health. Thus, he renamed the temple Wat Yai Sawang Arom.

Key attractions and significant features within the temple include:
🏠 The ordination hall (Ubosot), housing the principal Buddha image in the meditation posture, crafted from laterite in the Sukhothai style, built in 1963 BE.
⛺ The vihara, constructed in 2506 BE.
🏚 The sermon hall (Sala Kan Parian), built in 2455 BE, with a gable featuring a double-layered fan tray design with Thai manuscripts placed on the tray. Inside, there is a principal Buddha image in the meditation posture, created in 2505 BE.
🛕 The mondop of Luang Por Kulap Thammaviriyo.
🛖 The prayer hall, built in 2475 BE, made of wood.
