Greece's Hidden Gem Island of Paxos

Paxos is a small Greek island located in the Ionian Sea, just south of the larger island of Corfu. It is the main island of a small group, often called Paxi or Paxoi, which also includes the tiny islet of Antipaxos nearby. Paxos is known for its quiet, peaceful feeling and its natural green beauty. It does not have an airport, so visitors must travel by boat, mostly from Corfu or the Greek mainland port of Igoumenitsa.

The island is covered in vast olive groves and cypress trees that stretch down to the coast. It is small in size, only about 10 kilometers long, which means it is easy to explore by foot, bike, or rented small boat. The coastline has two different looks: the eastern side features many calm, pebbly coves and beaches, while the western side has high white limestone cliffs, caves, and dramatic rock formations that drop into the sea.
