Amazing view from top of the penang hill

Penang Hill is a hill resort comprising a group of peaks near the center of Penang Island, Malaysia. It is located 9 km west of the centre of George Town. It is part of Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve, recognized by UNESCO as the third Biosphere Reserve in Malaysia.

After taking 10 mins of train ride all the way up the top of penang hill, about 833meters above sea level, you will see the whole view of the city. The view is breathtaking and magnificent. You will truly appreciate how beautiful Penang is, a city by the sea, with mountains and hills, a mixture of urbanisation and nature.

The temperature is cooling and the air is fresher up there. If you want to exercise abit more you can choose to hike up instead of a train ride. On top of the hill, there is a cafe for you to grab a cuppa, chill and appreciate the city view.

How to get there: First of all, take a flight or bus from Singapore to Penang, or from Kuala Lumpur to Penang, then
charter transport to George Town, then continue transportation to the foot of Penang Hill. Then purchase Penang Hill railway ticket on official website or over the ticket counter, queue up to board the train and enjoy the steep train ride to the top of Penang Hill.

Operation time: 6.30am – 11.00pm

*Last trip from the Lower Station to the Upper Station (Penang Hill Station) is at 10.00pm.
*Last trip from the Upper Station (Penang Hill Station) to the lower station is at 11.00pm.
*The funicular runs on a half-hourly basis, and additional trips will be run if necessary.

Tips: you are advised to pay a little extra to opt for fast lane, that will truly save the time for queuing up for train service.
