If you want to travel abroad not far from Thailand, with diverse cultures, delicious food and plenty of photo spots, you must try to visit Penang at least once, a small seaside city in Malaysia that is surprisingly charming.
⸻
📍 Day 1: Take a leisurely stroll in George Town – an old city that is not out of style
• Arrive at Penang Airport and head to your accommodation in George Town.
• Start a light trip, walk around and see street art in the alleys throughout the city. (Don't forget to find a picture of a kid riding a bike!)
• Stop by a cute cafe like ChinaHouse or The Mugshot Café and take a picture with beautiful desserts
• In the evening, walk along the Esplanade by the sea to watch the sunset
🍛 Dinner: Recommended to try Nasi Kandar at Line Clear or Hameediyah - Halal, delicious, good price
⸻
🌄 Day 2: Nature + Culture Tour
• Morning: Go up to Penang Hill (Recommended to take the tram in the morning, the weather is great)
• Visit Kek Lok Si Temple - the biggest and most beautiful in Penang
• Noon: Return to George Town and stop by the market to find food, such as Padang Kota Lama
• Afternoon: Go to Penang Peranakan Mansion to learn about Baba-Nyonya culture
• Evening: Walk to find souvenirs at Gurney Plaza or Gurney Paragon
🍦 Recommended Dinner: Try Ice Kacang or Cendol at Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul
⸻
🏖️ Day 3: Chill before going back
• Morning: Stop by the Floating Mosque (Penang Floating Mosque) to take pictures of the sea view
• Walk around the local market, buy souvenirs such as mooncakes, local ice cream or Penang coffee
• Then head to the airport, travel back in style
⸻
💡 Small tips for this trip:
• Penang is easy to walk around, Grab is convenient to use
• People here speak English well, no need to worry about communication
• There are a lot of halal foods, don't worry! #Rainy season attractions
