Cuihua Mountain, located 23 kilometers south of Xi'an in the northern Qinling Mountains, stands at an altitude of 2,132 meters. Known as " Zhongnan's Unique Beauty " and " China's Geological and Geomorphological Museum , " the scenic area comprises three sections: Bishan Lake, Tianchi Lake, and the Landslide and Rock Sea Scenic Area. Cuihua Mountain was originally named Taiyi Mountain, owing to the legend that the Taoist master Taiyi practiced there.
Cuihua Mountain, surrounded by towering peaks and steep cliffs, is dauntingly steep. Within its center lies a natural pool known as the " Heavenly Pond , " also known as the " Taiyi Pond " or " Longyi Pool , " covering approximately 50,000 square meters. This scenic spot in Zhongnan Mountain was the site of the Taiyi Palace and Cuiwei Palace, built during the Han and Tang dynasties. These palaces served as places for emperors to worship the gods and escape the summer heat.
Cuihua Mountain boasts picturesque scenery, with its most captivating feature being the Qiuchi Pond at the summit. Surrounded by mountains, the pond shimmers with emerald waters, as clear as a mirror, spotless and spotless. The Taiyi Temple to the south of the pond was once a place for prayers for rain during droughts. Furthermore, the Lügong Cave and Huanglong Cave, as well as the Ice Cave, Wind Cave, and Eight Immortals Cave to the north, are all renowned. The Ice Cave remains frozen solid in midsummer, while the Wind Cave is chilled by a biting wind year-round. A spectacular waterfall cascades southeast of the Ice Cave.
