🇲🇾 Penang or Georgetown is the capital city of Penang State, Malaysia. Located in the northeast of Penang Island, it is a fascinating blend of Asian and European influences. ✨️

🌆 Well-preserved colonial buildings, a variety of delicious food, beautiful temples and bustling markets such as Clan Jetties add a lively atmosphere to the city. 🍜 While street food stalls and street art are also a tourist attraction.

🤔 Penang used to be part of Thailand before being colonized by the British during the colonial period. It is now one of the 13 states of Malaysia. The majority of the population is Chinese, Malays and Indians, respectively. Despite the diversity of races and religions, the people of Penang live together with understanding and respect for each other.
