"Penang" the charm of Malaysia's culture and colors

If you are looking for a destination that combines culture, food and art, Penang is the perfect answer. Penang is a state located in the northwest of Malaysia, with Penang Island as its center. The capital city, Georgetown, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Penang is easily accessible, whether by CAT bus (free around the city), Grab or bicycle rental. For those who like to walk around, this city is perfect because many tourist attractions are close to each other. It is recommended to bring an umbrella because the weather is quite hot and sunny.

🕌 Walk around Little India
This area is full of Indian culture. You can stop by to buy spices or saris from local shops. I personally like Masala Tea here the most. It is cheap, fragrant with spices and not too sweet.
This area also has beautiful old vintage buildings for you to walk around and enjoy. You can also stop by to see the Pinang Peranakan Mansion, which is another important highlight of the city.

☕ Air-conditioned cafe – The Alley Cafe
This is a small shop, but the quality of the coffee is not small. The day I went was a weekday, most of the customers were locals, the atmosphere was quiet, suitable for taking a break from walking around.

🍛 Must-eat food – Michelin-starred Nasi Lemak
I recommend Ali Nasi Lemak Daun Pisang, a Michelin-starred nasi lemak restaurant with reasonable prices. I personally went in the afternoon. It might not have everything to choose from, but the advantage is that you don’t have to queue and the taste is delicious. If you like soft rice, you might feel that the rice is a bit hard.

Penang is a city that feels like you’ve traveled back in time. There are old colonial and Sino-European buildings that are still well-preserved, especially in the old town of Georgetown. You can walk around and see beautiful street art, cute coffee shops, and old houses all day long.

After writing this review, I still feel very impressed. I want to go back again.
