the Secret Garden, Upper Roof @ One Utama, Petaling jaya

As if it is a kind of magic, a wondrous cornucopia of plants made their way to the rooftop of this shopping mall, to form the Secret Garden, a fairly new addition to the constantly growing hub. Well-preserved and eclectic plants, manicured, some labeled and arranged to form a biologically diverse pocket in the context of high rise buildings around it everywhere. Benches are provided at some spots along the pathways to have a meaningful and rejuvenating sit down amongst the plants. The winding and divergent little paths swirl around the garden, whether or not visitors choose to walk along them, instead of spending the whole day gazing at the lotuses and the lilies on the pond. While some would describe this enchanting feature of the mall an oasis, due to the plethora of palm trees and desert plants from Mexico and other destinations, it could also be considered a botanical archive, due to the organized and systematic plant labeling, and arrangements, and the presence of some rare species from around the globe. A herbarium of sorts, reminding us of nature, and great for taking a break from the hustle of the mall.
