Petra’s dramatic entrance

The walk from the visitor centre to Petra’s most iconic monument, the treasury is an adventure all by itself. As you walk through this 1.2 km long cavern known as the Siq you can witness the towering rock formations above you as the narrow passageway winds downhill. The rocks themselves almost look different colours throughout the day, dependent on how the light shines on them.

At the end of the Siq you will gain your first glimpse of the spectacular 40m high treasury that made this place so famous. #aprilblooms #petra #rocks
