The world's most expensive World Heritage Site entrance fee|Petra, Jordan

Famous as the setting for Indiana Jones, the Petra archaeological site is particularly known for the Treasury, or Al-Khazneh. Many people may have seen it at least once somewhere πŸ‘€

Petra is a city carved into rock, formed by the Nabataeans around the 2nd century BC. It was a key location for caravan trade.

Most of the structures are made of sandstone (rose-red) and include a mix of rock-carved buildings and constructions built on or between rocks. The nearby desert area is also famous as the Red Desert.

🎫 Tickets 🎫
A one-day entrance ticket costs a whopping 50 dinars, equivalent to over 10,000 yen. However, considering the sheer number of ruins beyond just Al-Khazneh, it might be worth it.

It takes about 3 hours on foot from the starting point to the endpoint, Ad-Deir. With numerous ruins along the way, you won't get bored as long as you have the stamina! If you get tired, you can try the donkey taxis 🐎

🌸 Best Season 🌸
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November). Even in March, temperatures can reach close to 30Β°C, so be cautious of heatstroke!

There is also a separate plan to see the site illuminated at night.
