Maya Bay is a famous and much–loved tourist attraction of the Phi Phi archipelago in Thailand. Jagged cliffs, snow-white beaches with velvety sand and coral reefs make an indelible impression on travelers who come here for a piece of real paradise. Maya Bay was also chosen by world-famous directors: so, in the late 1990s. For years, under the direction of Danny-Boyle, the filming of the movie "The Beach" took place here. The main role went to Leonardo DiCaprio. Maya Bay is surrounded by rocks, the coast is covered with snow-white sand, surrounded by tropical greenery, beautiful coral reefs hide in the azure water.
Maya Bay is located off the coast of the uninhabited island of Phi Phi Le, the national nature Reserve of Thailand. But it is easy to get here from Phuket Island, both independently and as part of a tourist group.
The famous Viking Cave (Tham Viking) is also located here. There is an assumption that the northern navigators sailed here, and the artifacts found in the cave speak in support of this hypothesis. Here you can see images of Viking boats, most of the drawings are made in a marine theme. Unfortunately, you can't go inside, but you can see the cave from the outside. Hundreds of swallows have chosen the cave, which have built nests here, residents collect bird nests and cook delicacies from them. In a caves, equipped with long bamboo poles, the locals extract swallow nests, this is the main delicacy of the local cuisine, characterized by useful properties and high cost.
In addition to the amazing Maya Bay on Phi Phi Lei, there is another beautiful bay, the Blue Lagoon. It is located on the opposite side. Its beauty lies in the absence of travelers. There are no thousands of tourists here, and the nature is no less beautiful than in Maya Bay.
