Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat Woramahawihan (Wat Yai)
or Wat Yai of Mueang Songkhwae, is a first-class royal temple, Woramahawihan type, located on Phutthabucha Road on the east bank of the Nan River, opposite Phitsanulok Provincial Hall. It houses Phra Buddha Chinnarat, considered the most beautiful Buddha image in Thailand. Built during the Sukhothai period, the temple features several must-see landmarks, including Luang Pho Dam, Phra Buddha Chinnasi, and the small Wihan Phra Lueang. Inside, Luang Pho To, a large stucco Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture, is enshrined in the Sukhothai style. His face is round and graceful, and his head is adorned with a long, flame-like urn and hair. It serves as the principal Buddha image in the ordination hall. The main hall also houses the Phra Prang Wat Yai, a Sukhothai-era historical site built to house the Buddha's relics. It is located at the center of the temple.

Behind the temple are historical remains and artifacts from the Sukhothai period. This is the only significant piece of archaeological evidence that still contains architectural styles reflecting the temple's antiquity. At the base of the chedi is the "Phra Attharot," a standing Buddha image bestowing blessings, measuring 18 cubits tall.
