Raffles Hotel le Royal is beyond beautiful
Raffles has a French-Cambodian style
The hotel was renovated in 2020. Although it is a century-old hotel, it is not outdated. The facilities and services are up to date, and it has a charming old-world feel.
The large swimming pool in the hotel courtyard is beautiful, and the surrounding buildings, ancient trees, and frangipani flowers are all highlights. It is no worse than the paid attractions outside, and you can take great photos in no time.
Room service: Apart from the indifferent staff at the entrance who don't help guests with their luggage (because the gravel road is really difficult to drag luggage on), everything else is great. Room service is also very fast. During the Year of the Snake, they gave gifts and handwritten Chinese greeting cards, which was very sincere.
Room interior:
Small and exquisite. Because there is a small balcony with a pool view, it doesn't feel cramped.
The shower is relatively small, but there are no other significant drawbacks.
Dining:
Breakfast: There aren't many options, but you can definitely eat your fill. The food is also quite exquisite, and the quality is good.
I recommend trying the eggs benedict, which is better than what you would get at a typical Western restaurant. The banana mille-feuille is also delicious.
Elephant Bar: I recommend the Singapore Sling and Phnom Penh Sling cocktails. The overall atmosphere is great, and the snacks are also good. I recommend going there in the evening if you have time.
Transportation: It is in the city center, next to Wat Phnom, Central Market, and a shopping mall.
It is also very quick and convenient to call a Grab.
