Follow Lisa's footsteps to pay homage at Wat Mahathat
Wat Mahathat was built during the reign of King Borommarachathirat I, King Luang Pha Ngua, in 1917, but it was not completed. His Majesty passed away before it was completed. Therefore, additional construction was completed during the reign of King Ramesuan. In addition, he ordered the construction of the main prang and invited the relics of the Lord Buddha to be enshrined under the base of the main prang of Wat Mahathat in 1927, which appears in the royal chronicles in the royal handwriting version, making this a very important temple during the Ayutthaya period.
