Chaiwatthanaram Temple

It is an ancient temple in the late Ayutthaya period in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. It is located in Ban Pom Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

Wat Chaiwatthanaram was built during the reign of King Prasat Thong in 2173. Originally, the area where the temple was located was the residence of his mother who passed away before King Prasat Thong ascended the throne. When he ascended the throne, he built Wat Chaiwatthanaram to dedicate the merit to his mother.
