Wat Ratchaburana, an ancient temple in Ayutthaya Province

Wat Ratchaburana, Ayutthaya Province is one of the largest and oldest temples in Ayutthaya Province. Wat Ratchaburana was built during the reign of King Borommarachathirat II or Chao Sam Phraya.

Wat Ratchaburana is famous for being robbed by a group of thieves who dug up the crypt inside the main prang in 1956 and stole a large amount of treasures. After that, the Fine Arts Department came to renovate and found the remaining treasures and a large amount of gold objects.

Currently, the treasures from the crypt are kept at the Chao Sam Phraya National Museum.

Wat Ratchaburana is another important landmark of Ayutthaya Province that you must check in.
