Phuket's Sunset Paradise

Promthep Cape is one of the most iconic spots in Phuket and a must-visit, especially if you’re into stunning sunsets. Located at the southern tip of the island, it’s famous for its breathtaking golden hour views over the Andaman Sea – often said to be among the best in Thailand. The atmosphere here reminded me of Bukit Merese in Lombok, where people gather just to soak in the beauty of the setting sun.
Something quirky we noticed when we arrived: two turtles carrying donation boxes, complete with QR codes for e-payments! I joked with my friend that maybe we should start raising turtles to fund our travels too.
Beyond the sunset, Promthep Cape also features a few landmarks: a small lighthouse, a shrine with unique elephant statues, and the popular Promthep Cape Viewpoint – a hot spot for photos. You’ll also find small stalls selling souvenirs and drinks. For a calmer experience, take a short walk down the hill to catch a different angle of the seascape.
In short, Promthep Cape is more than just a sunset viewpoint – it’s a true symbol of Phuket’s charm, blending nature, culture, and a peaceful seaside atmosphere.
