"Lately, Phuket seems to have truly become a destination for foreigners. One common feeling among Thais is that "Phuket is incredibly expensive." Everything seems to be priced specifically to cater to high-spending foreigners, which has made us Thais, and even native Phuket residents, start to feel like outsiders. The cost of living, food, and taxi fares have skyrocketed to shocking levels. Many people even complain that it's no longer worth vacationing there, even though it's their home away from home..."
