Hainan Shrine

This is the Hainanese Shrine, or Chao Jun Bui Nia Shrine, located on Thalang Road in Phuket's Old Town.

Built by Hainanese Thais, this shrine enshrines the Goddess Tubtim, also known as Po Tao or Jun Bo Teng Niao, a deity highly revered by sailors on Koh Hai.

The shrine is housed in a row of shophouses painted red, a symbol of good fortune and a belief among the Chinese.
