Pray for Blessings at Tongling Temple in Zhangzhou

Ling Tong Mountain, also known as Dafeng Mountain, is located in Daxi Town, Pinghe County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. After Huang Daozhou, a scholar of the Ming Dynasty, inscribed the words "Ling Ying Gan Tong" on Dafeng Rock, people began to call Dafeng Rock Ling Tong Rock, and Dafeng Mountain was also called Ling Tong Mountain. There is a wonder called "Bead Curtain Turns into Rain" on Ling Tong Mountain. It is said that those who bathe in the "Bead Curtain Turns into Rain" can become the top scholar in the imperial examination and achieve success in life.

There is no direct transportation from Zhangzhou to Ling Tong Mountain. You can charter a car to get there. The mountain road leads directly to Qingyun Temple. The road up the mountain is partly a flat path and partly stone steps. When you reach the intersection with the words "Qingtian" carved on the stone wall, the road to Qingtian Rock is difficult to walk and leads to Qingtian Peak. Because I was with an elderly person, I turned back halfway and did not reach the top. The road to Ling Tong Rock is easy to walk. The sound of firecrackers in the valley is accompanied by the chanting of scriptures, and the red Tongling Temple on the rock wall appears in a dreamlike scene to welcome devout pilgrims. After offering incense to the gods and praying for blessings, we went down the mountain.

The whole journey takes 4 hours, which is very suitable for low-level hiking. My mother, who is over 70 years old, found the air on the mountain fresh and invigorating. It is a great place to exercise and keep fit.
