Introducing Dengtaijia Scenic Area

Located in southern Wugang City, the Dengtaijia Scenic Area, named for its main peak, which resembles an ancient lampstand, is 20 kilometers from the city center. Covering 3,333 hectares, it is part of the main scenic areas of Shimantan National Forest Park. The area boasts unique geology and landforms, with the mountain composed of rare shale, quartz sandstone, and basalt.

The site displays the remains of countless dramatic mountain-building events over the past 1.28 billion years—primitive seafloor, rippled rocks, cracked rocks, fairy footprints, and over a hundred karst caves and stone shelters—illustrating the history of Earth's transformation from ocean to land. The scenic area boasts over 600 plant species, including over 30 under national protection. It is known as a "forest oxygen bar," a "plant kingdom," and a "museum of ancient oceanographic relics."

Dengtaijia, the main peak, stands at 808 meters, making it the second highest peak in Wugang City. Dengtaijia boasts a majestic landscape, with numerous peaks, forests, caves, and streams, each offering a unique array of diverse landscapes. Its 138 scenic features, including the cascading Tianchi Waterfall, the winding cliff path, one of China's most thrilling and pristine ecological trails, and the enchanting Monkey Palace Cave, all embody the spiritual charm of the deep valleys and gorges.
