A Seaside Getaway with My Dog | A Detailed 4-Day 3-Night Pingtan Itinerary for Pet Owners

Day1️⃣ Hangzhou to Wenzhou, 321km trip. Departed in the morning, arrived in Wenzhou by noon. Visited Qidu Island and MixC Mall (pet-friendly). Had meals at Wild Fruit and Star Leaf restaurants (both dog-friendly). Qidu Island is super photogenic! Stayed in a loft apartment near MixC – not recommended 👎 Poor sleep quality.

Day2️⃣ Wenzhou to Pingtan, 380km trip. Arrived at homestay around 2pm.
🛏️ Stay: Pingtan Youqi Reed Homestay (highly recommended 🩷). Spacious rooms with balcony offering sea-view sunrises. Good breakfast + daily afternoon tea ☕️. Features slow-charging stations. Great location – close to Mirror Sands and nearby Wuyahai scenic spot.
🌊 Overcast with light rain. After resting, only visited Mirror Sands and Most Beautiful Coastline. Left side of Mirror Sands has a dog-friendly beach (spotted a seemingly friendly yellow dog, but kept our pup leashed for safety). Right side has photogenic black reef beach (not suitable for dogs).
🍚 Dinner at Feipo Feizai Seafood Restaurant (pet-friendly!). Popular spot – even weekdays require queuing. Choose your hotpot base and fresh seafood/veggies. Affordable and delicious!

Day3️⃣ Morning road trip along north route: Homestay → Mirror Sands → Most Beautiful Coastline → Changjiang'ao → Northern Ecological Bay.
Wanted to visit Sense of Café at Mirror Sands but encountered an unleashed Golden Retriever at entrance. Most Beautiful Coastline is stunning in sunshine! Northern Ecological Bay has the best views of north route – highly recommended!
🍚 Lunch at Seafood Xiaobailou (pet-friendly, decent food)
🌄 Afternoon break at homestay due to heat. Rented e-bikes at 4pm for Changjiang'ao sunset. Beautiful scenery and happy pup, BUT overly crowded with dirty sand/water – not recommended for dogs. ❌
🍚 Post-sunset meal at Sunset Seaview Restaurant opposite Changjiang'ao. Average taste, slow service. Avoid their Golden Crab Rice – misleading menu photos.

Day4️⃣ Finally found clean beaches! South route's hidden gem – Qisha'ao Beach.
🏖️ Vastly cleaner than Changjiang'ao – no trash, pristine sand/water. Arrived at 9am with no crowds (Coco had a blast!). By 10am people arrived. Note: Announcements prohibit pets, but no enforcement during our visit (may differ during peak seasons).
☕️ After beach time, visited two pet-friendly cafes post-grooming: YouYi (Korean/Jeju-style, photogenic!) and Sweet Pear (French garden vibe). Both serve great coffee 👍. Drove home afterward.

Overall fantastic trip! All visited spots were dog-friendly. Just beware of stray dogs – stay vigilant for safety‼️
