Kenting Solo Trip

🚶🏻♀️I went on a solo trip during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, avoiding water activities and simply driving around to enjoy the scenery. Two days felt just right for a leisurely experience of Kenting's lifestyle. When I was planning my trip, I noticed many people shared cycling routes for the east and west lines, but without a map, it was hard to visualize. I hope this guide with maps 🗺️ can help you a bit.
Activities during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday
⏰ Comparatively, the west line is shorter with fewer attractions, making it suitable for those with tighter schedules or who prefer a more relaxed day. However, this isn’t absolute, as both lines can be completed in about an hour if you drive without stopping. The overall time spent depends on your pace. Personally, I like stopping to admire the scenery I enjoy, so I spent quite a bit of time on the west line.
🛵 All transportation was by electric scooter, which costs 400/day to rent in Hengchun.
🌊 Kenting is truly amazing with its blue skies, white clouds, and sea breeze. Riding an electric scooter to explore freely is incredibly relaxing. Remember to bring sunscreen and water as the sun is very strong.
🍜 For food, you can visit Hengchun Night Market for local snacks, or Kenting Street, which also offers plenty of options, though prices might be slightly higher.
💡Tips:
- Make sure you’re confident riding a scooter, especially on downhill roads.
- Be cautious when driving at night as there aren’t many streetlights.
- You can ask your homestay host for a map; they’re usually very familiar with the area.
I hope you have an unforgettable trip in Kenting 😊
