Taiwan Pingxi Line Train Travel: Houtong & Jingtong

Houtong, famous for its cat village in Taiwan, and Jingtong, the filming location for the movie "The Girl We Loved Once," are two train lines that allow you to experience Taiwan's rural landscapes close to downtown Taipei.

This is a great place to take photos of peacefully sleeping cats, trains parked on the tracks at the end of the Pingxi Line, and mossy tunnels. It's a great spot for those who appreciate ancient natural scenery.

⚘ Tip: If you're visiting three or more stations on the Pingxi Line, the Pingxi One-Day Pass is a great value option.

If you're visiting only one or two stations, use the EasyCard.

Trains arrive approximately every hour, so it's convenient to take a photo of the timetable before leaving the station.
