Not abroad, but Zhejiang—the most underrated treasure island

Summer is the perfect time for an island getaway.
Not overseas—right in the Yangtze River Delta, I found this healing blue island.
It’s hard to believe unless you see it with your own eyes:
Zhejiang has oceans as blue as phone wallpapers,
and summer meadows brushed by sea breezes turn into green carpets.
The meadows, ocean, and fishing boats make every shot look like a painting—
no wonder it’s one of China’s top ten most beautiful islands by National Geographic.

✅ **Transportation**
📍 Nanji Island, Pingyang County, Wenzhou, Zhejiang
🚆 Take the high-speed train to "Pingyang Station," then transfer to a ferry. For train tickets, use the CMB Centurion Card for discounts—I claimed a ¥200 train ticket voucher pack and used ¥100 and ¥50 vouchers for this round trip, saving ¥150 (basically covering the ferry fare).
📝 Book tickets in advance via the official WeChat account "Nanji Passenger Travel": upper deck ¥160, middle deck ¥145, standard deck ¥130.
🚌 Island shuttle bus: ¥45/person (6 rides), or charter a car for ¥300 (6 pickups/drop-offs).

My friend also got the CMB Centurion Card and chose the ride-hailing voucher pack (a choice between this and the train voucher pack)—30 vouchers of ¥10 off rides (minimum spend ¥20). From stations to B&Bs and attractions, rides were nearly half-price—a total win! The savings covered a fancy meal for us.

✅ **Must-Visit Spots**
1⃣ **Sanpanwei**
A photogenic meadow and sunrise spot. Accessible by shuttle bus, with nearby hotels for convenience. Visit in the afternoon for better lighting and fewer crowds.
2⃣ **Dasha’ao Beach**
A healing beach with stunning views and water activities—perfect for seaside fun and photos.
3⃣ **Cave Hotel**
Currently under maintenance, but worth a photo stop. The cliffside ocean views evoke Santorini vibes—just watch your step on the steep stairs.

▪ **Summer prep**: Sunscreen and hydration are a must. Bring mosquito repellent or wear long pants—the island has lots of bugs.
