One of Pokhara’s most mystical and sacred sites, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave is a natural limestone cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva — hidden just opposite the famous Devi’s Fall. This mysterious underground wonder stretches over 3 km, with only a portion open to the public, and houses a Shiva lingam believed to have been discovered centuries ago by local shepherds.

As you descend into the cool, dark cave, a winding staircase leads you past stunning stalactites and stalagmites, slippery stone walkways, and finally, to a chamber where the Shiva idol rests serenely, continuously bathed by trickling holy water. If you venture further, you’ll reach a viewpoint inside the cave that reveals the thundering base of Devi’s Fall — a surreal experience!
