You can see decorative tiles called azulejos in many places throughout Porto.
The blue-based azulejos are so beautiful I could gaze upon them forever. ✨
Here are some of the places I visited:
1, 2, 3, 4 "Porto Cathedral"
📍Terreiro da Sé, 4050-573 Porto, Portugal
Azulejos are used lavishly in the corridors. Don't miss the azulejos on the rooftop either!
5, 6, 7, 8, 9 "São Bento Station"
📍Praça de Almeida Garrett, 4000-069 Porto, Portugal
This central station is still in operation. The entire wall of the station entrance is covered in azulejos. They're said to depict historical scenes. I've never seen such a beautiful station before.
10 "Carmo Church⛪️"
📍R. do Carmo, 4050-164 Porto, Portugal
I only saw the exterior and didn't go inside. It's right next to Lello y Irmao, said to be the most beautiful bookstore in the world!
There are other places where azulejos are used.
If you visit Porto, be sure to go looking for various azulejos!😍
