At the Putian Railway Station, find the K09 bus at the road station on the right-hand side. The journey to "Wenjia Wharf" takes about an hour, and you can scan to pay the fare upon boarding. You can pre-purchase ferry tickets and entrance tickets (total ¥125) via the "Meizhou Island Ferry" mini-program. Once on the island, there are no additional fees except for renting vehicles, dining, or accommodation. However, Taiwanese visitors using a Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents (Taiwan Compatriot Permit) only need to pay for the ferry ticket, which must be purchased on-site at the Wenjia Wharf ticket office. The ferry ride takes just 15 minutes.
Upon arrival on the island, you will immediately encounter people offering motorbike rentals, which make getting around the island more convenient. Attractions on the island include: Meiyu Chaoyin (Meizhou Island Sound of the Tides), Mazu Temple, Rainbow Road, Golden Coast Beach, Goose Tail Divine Stone Park, and more. Goose Tail Divine Stone Park features coastal erosion landscapes such as Feiji Cave, Moon-Gazing Heavenly Dog, and Dragon Cave Listening to the Tides, where you may spend more time exploring. Be mindful of the strong sea breeze and intense sunlight—remember to apply sunscreen and stay hydrated. Rainbow Road is a regular road painted with colorful designs; however, it can get busy with traffic, so exercise caution and avoid lingering too long. Mazu Temple is bustling with worshippers, but it is relatively quiet in the morning. From there, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the densely packed, staggered houses in the surrounding area.
