
Xincai Confucian Temple is located in the southeast corner of Gulu Town, Xincai County . It was moved to its current location in the 12th year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty ( 1517 ) and rebuilt during the Shunzhi and Kangxi periods of the Qing Dynasty. It was the cultural and educational center at the time, and also a place for worshiping and offering sacrifices to Confucius.
There is a Dacheng Hall inside, with a bronze statue of Confucius in the hall; next to the Confucian Temple, there is a Confucian Academy (commonly known as Hongxue), and a Minglun Hall was built, which was a place where Confucian teachers who respected Confucius gave lectures to " spread education, cultivate talents, and improve folk customs . "
