Compared to Huangshan, I love this fairy mountain twice visited by Li Bai even more!

Today, I want to recommend a super hidden gem—Tianzhu Mountain! This place is truly Anhui’s hidden paradise, so beautiful it moves your heart. Every step reveals a new scene, as if you are walking through the verses of the poetic immortal Li Bai. 🌟
🌄【The Charm of Tianzhu Mountain】
Tianzhu Mountain, also known as Qianshan or Wanggong Mountain, was historically called Nanyue. Along the hiking trail, every step offers a new view, with clouds and mist swirling around the mountains, accompanied by strange pines and unique rocks. It is one of Anhui’s three famous mountains alongside Huangshan and Jiuhua Mountain, but compared to the bustling Huangshan, Tianzhu Mountain feels more like a quiet, secluded paradise.
🚂【Transportation Guide】
👉 High-speed rail: Take the train to “Qianshan Station,” then a 45-minute tourist bus directly to the scenic area—super convenient!
👉 Tickets: Ticket + round-trip shuttle + cable car up and down, book online in advance for 288 RMB, excellent value for money!
🧗【Hiking Routes】
👉 Short loop (about 3 hours):
Take the Dalongwo cable car up ➠ (up) Zhenyigang ➠ Gaobentai ➠ Mysterious Valley ➠ Tianchi Peak ➠ Tianzhu Peak ➠ Penglai Peak ➠ (down) Hundred-step Cloud Ladder ➠ Zongguanzhai ➠ Zhenyigang ➠ Dalongwo cable car down
👉 Long loop (about 6 hours):
Take the Dalongwo cable car up ➠ (up) Zhenyigang ➠ Gaobentai ➠ Mysterious Valley ➠ Tianchi Peak ➠ Tianzhu Peak ➠ Penglai Peak ➠ Baiyuetai ➠ (down) Immortal’s Cave ➠ Qinglongbei ➠ Xiguanzhai ➠ Baocuiting ➠ Lotus Peak ➠ Liandan Lake ➠ Health Trail ➠ Zhenyigang ➠ Dalongwo cable car down
‼️ Main difference between the loops: The short loop descends via the Hundred-step Cloud Ladder, which is shorter but steeper; the long loop descends via Qinglongbei, which is longer but gentler. Choose based on your time and stamina.
📸【Photo Spots】
👉 Penglai Peak: Amazing aerial views, perfect for photos!
👉 Tianzhu Peak: The main peak and filming location for the black myth “Wukong,” a must-visit!
👉 Qinglongbei: Feels like walking on a dragon’s spine, with great scenery!
👉 Hundred-step Cloud Ladder: Only down, not up; your legs will shake, but it’s super thrilling!
🎯【Tips for Visiting】
1️⃣ Tianzhu Mountain has moderate difficulty. I took the long loop; going up was a bit tiring, but coming down was easier, about 20,000 steps a day.
2️⃣ Unless you are a hiking enthusiast or very fit, it’s recommended to take the cable car up. Hiking up consumes a lot of energy and takes longer. The cable car runs until 5:30 PM, so watch your return time!
3️⃣ You can arrive a day early and stay near the visitor center; you’ll need to start around 7 AM the next day. Accommodation is affordable.
4️⃣ Get a map before hiking to avoid getting lost.
5️⃣ Wear comfortable shoes, bring hiking poles or buy a bamboo stick at the foot of the mountain. It’s a bit cooler on the mountain, so bring a light jacket and sun protection.
6️⃣ Bring water and snacks; things are expensive on the mountain and supply points are scarce in the latter part of the hike.
🌿【Features of Tianzhu Mountain】
👉 Misty clouds: The clouds here are especially beautiful, like being in a fairyland. Every photo looks like an ink painting.
👉 Strange pines and rocks: The unique pines and rocks here rival those of Huangshan, each with its own story.
👉 Cultural relics: Besides stunning natural scenery, Tianzhu Mountain has rich cultural relics like Mysterious Valley and Immortal’s Cave, each with legends.
🌟【Why Choose Tianzhu Mountain】
👉 Fewer crowds, beautiful scenery: Compared to Huangshan, Tianzhu Mountain has far fewer tourists, so you can quietly enjoy the views without waiting in line.
👉 Great value: Tickets + shuttle + cable car for 288 RMB, excellent cost performance!
👉 Family-friendly: Suitable for both elderly and children, it’s a perfect choice for a family trip.
Friends, Tianzhu Mountain is truly a super hidden treasure. You won’t regret going! Hurry up and plan your trip to experience the magical charm of nature! 🚗🌟
