Discovering the Charm of Qikou Ancient Town 🏯

During a past visit to Qikou Ancient Town, located in Lin County, Shanxi Province, I was enchanted by its historical significance along the banks of the Yellow River. Once a significant hub for Shanxi merchants, Qikou offers free entry.

The Heilong Temple Theater Stage, a Qing Dynasty stage, offers views of the Yellow River and Qingshui River. The Li Family Mountain Village, described by artist Wu Guanzhong, features Ming Dynasty cave dwellings arranged like pyramids. Following an old shepherd around 72 twists and turns, I sat under a jujube tree sketching while a local lady insisted on giving me freshly picked jujubes. Floating through the "Ten-mile Gallery" on a sheepskin raft, I marveled at cliff formations and spotted the iron ring used by the Red Army.

Wear comfortable shoes for walking on the cobblestone paths. Qikou Ancient Town's historical charm and cultural richness make it a must-visit destination. 🌿😊
