⛰️ Qingdao's Laoshan with Two Kids: Our REAL One-Day Trip Recap! 🔥

#chinatravel
Just got back from our day trip to Laoshan in Qingdao with the two kiddos, and I've got some unfiltered thoughts to share for anyone planning a visit! Laoshan's scenery is absolutely GORGEOUS, especially the coastline. BUT...

I specifically picked a super sunny day for those epic photos. The temperature said 31°C, and OMG, it was SWELTERING! My face actually felt like it was burning, and within 10 minutes of walking, I was sticky all over! So, seriously, please pick a cooler day to go. You'll thank me later. 🥵

Also, I don't really feel like you "hike" Laoshan. It's more like a large shuttle bus takes you to a spot, you explore, and then you have to walk all the way back to the bus stop to catch the next bus to the next spot. This was a first for me with a "mountain trip." A bit tiring and, again, SO HOT.

The ticket is ¥130, which includes the shuttle bus at ¥40. It's a one-time charge, so no extra bus fees later. You can choose to get off or stay on at each stop. We chose the Taiqing-Yangkou line. Definitely sit on the right side for amazing views! If you can't, no worries, the first stop, Bashuihe (Eight Waters River), is a good place to hop off.

For the return shuttle bus, make sure you sit on the LEFT side – the views are stunning!

In summary: Laoshan is beautiful, and it's easy to get great photos in the summer. However, it's very hot, and it can be tough on kids (and adults!). So, definitely consider the weather when you plan your trip. On the bright side, the shuttle buses were super clean and had wonderfully cold AC! 🌬️
