🇨🇳 Qingdao Travel Review
A day on the road is always enriching. Qingdao, my recent visit, was no exception. Every step I took was filled with a unique charm. For someone who'd only seen Europe in pictures, a fantastic Europe lay beneath my feet!
🕰️ Strolling the Streets
The first thing that caught my eye was the quaint clock tower and unique buildings. It felt like I'd stepped into a European alley, allowing me to enjoy an exotic atmosphere in the heart of the city. The contrast of the blue sky and red roofs was unmissable.
⛪ St. Michael's Cathedral
The next stop was St. Michael's Cathedral, Qingdao's most iconic landmark. The red twin spires were impressive, and the square was filled with tourists and locals. Couples taking wedding photos were also frequent, adding to the cathedral's romantic atmosphere.
🍢 Exploring Local Cuisine
The joy of traveling is, of course, food! The dishes I encountered on the streets and in restaurants in Qingdao made my trip even more special.
• Crispy grilled skewers, with their harmonious blend of spices, were a perfect complement to the beer.
• The light yet refreshing tomato and egg stir-fry epitomized Chinese home cooking.
• Spicy mapo tofu was a perfect accompaniment to rice.
• Finally, the stir-fried clams truly showcased Qingdao's coastal character.
🍺 City of Beer
Qingdao, a city of beer, was a perfect complement to any meal. Grilled skewers paired with a Tsingtao beer was a truly exceptional pairing.
⸻
👉 This trip to Qingdao was a short but memorable experience, combining the city's European-style architecture with the flavors of the sea.
