I originally went to Qingdao Railway Station just to buy train tickets… but accidentally stumbled upon a hidden gem right inside the station – the Jiaozhou Railway Museum! 🤩 And guess what? It’s completely free to enter!
This mini museum spans two floors and features five themed exhibition halls showcasing the history of Qingdao’s railway system – from vintage locomotives to modern high-speed trains. There’s even a high-speed rail driving simulator and VR theater (extra fee), perfect if you’ve ever dreamed of being a train driver 🚄✨
What surprised me the most:
- ✔️ Free admission (just register or scan your ID)
- ✔️ Family-friendly and super educational
- ✔️ Interactive exhibits that make history come alive
- ✔️ Free stamp collection corner & railway souvenirs
If you’re already near Zhanqiao Pier or catching a train, definitely make time for this stop. It’s a fun and meaningful way to experience how Qingdao grew through its railway history!
📍 Location: Qingdao Railway Station, Taian Road, Shinan District
🕒 Opening Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Wed–Sun)
🚇 How to Get There: Take Metro Line 1 or 3, Exit A, walk right in!
