Qionghai · Tanmen: Travel Through Time and Encounter the Beauty of a Thousand-Year-Old Fishing Port. Tanmen Town in Qionghai, adjacent to Bo'ao by water, is most famous for its freshly caught, incredibly delicious seafood, as well as its thousand-year-old fishing port with countless masts and boats setting sail!
Location: Tanmen Central Fishing Port
(Directly opposite No. 96 Fugang Street, Tanmen Town, Qionghai, next to Tanmen Bridge)

Transportation: Drive directly or take a high-speed train to Qionghai, then take a taxi to Tanmen Town. The fishing port is right in town, making transportation super convenient.
Playtime: Approximately 20 minutes
Recommended Photo-taking Times:
For those who don't mind the sun: before 1 PM. For those who prefer to avoid the sun: before 10 AM or after 4:30 PM (taking photos before 10 AM yields better results!)
!PS: There are many seafood restaurants along the street at Tanmen Central Fishing Port. You can dine here and then take a stroll around the fishing port afterward.
Time-honored Restaurants:
Hainan Renjia Chain Seafood Restaurant
Ganglimin Seafood Restaurant
Tanmen Port Seafood Stall
Old Fishing Port Seafood Restaurant
PS: Buying seafood at the market and having it processed at a restaurant is also an excellent option; seafood bought in the morning is fresher, as many are caught by fishing boats that went out at night and returned in the early morning.
Seafood Recommendations:
Steamed Egg with Sea Urchin
For fish, choose grouper, parrotfish, red snapper, or amberjack – they have fewer bones and tender meat; pan-fried hairtail is also delicious.
Mantis shrimp: blanched or salt and pepper style.
Braised sea cucumber: fragrant and fresh, a direct hit to the taste buds.
Prawns: steamed or salt and pepper style (steaming preserves freshness; salt and pepper adds more flavor).
Squid: pan-fried or braised.
Green lobster with garlic is a fairly standard preparation.
Stir-fried clams are very appetizing with rice.
Pufferfish soup is highly nourishing.
Sandworms: with fermented lees vinegar, stir-fried, or in seafood congee.
Shellfish: you can't go wrong with any choice.
Seafood product shops are worth browsing.
Many products are processed from what fishermen bring back. Some shops even have their own fishing boats. They offer high-quality local specialties that can also be shipped directly from the store.
Recommended dried products include fish maw, dried scallops, dried shrimp, dried abalone, dried squid, and dried sea cucumber – they are great for making congee back home; vacuum-packed fish like red grouper, tiger grouper, parrotfish, and golden pomfret can still retain their freshness.
