Quanzhou, the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road and hometown of overseas Chinese, is renowned as the UNESCO-listed World Maritime Trade Center of Song-Yuan China—the only city in China to receive this honor.
Located in the heart of Quanzhou, the Riverside Crowne Plaza stands as one of the landmark buildings along the Jinjiang River. It enjoys an intimate connection with the river while facing the ancient city across the water. Step outside, and you're immersed in the vibrancy of the city's old and new districts; retreat inside, and you'll find serene riverside tranquility. Whether you seek a peaceful room or a lively party atmosphere, this hotel delivers. West Street, Kaiyuan Temple, and Qingyuan Mountain are just a short taxi ride away.
This isn’t just a hotel—it’s a grand ocean liner! The reception desk resembles the bow of a ship, while six towering sails stand opposite the front desk. The lobby is crowned with wavelike crystal chandeliers, and the stargazing bar, designed like a ship’s deck, exudes the elegance of a luxury hotel.
Staying in the Executive King Room (3118) on the 31st floor was a delight. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered unobstructed, breathtaking views—perfect for curing acrophobia. Waking up to a sunrise over the river was simply mesmerizing.
From the Ancient Pier Restaurant to the Japanese dining venue, enticing aromas filled the air. Dinner at the 2nd-floor Caizhonglou was unforgettable—we ordered seven dishes, each a dance of flavors, proving the chef’s exceptional skills.
The 6th-floor heated pool had excellent water quality, and the blue-and-white woven loungers against the shimmering water made for perfect photo ops.
The top-floor Executive Lounge offers a bird’s-eye view of the city, evoking a sense of grandeur. As always, I loved sitting by the window, feeling as if I could reach out and touch the clouds.
