Quanzhou, also known as Quan and Li for short, is a coastal city in Fujian Province. It was once the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road. Although the medieval maritime civilization is no longer glorious, the intricate carvings on the old buildings still record the glory...
"Kaiyuan Temple" is located on West Street, Licheng District, Quanzhou City. It has a history of more than 1,300 years. It is an important cultural relic on the southeast coast and one of the largest Buddhist temples in Fujian Province. The scenic spots of Kaiyuan Temple include the Heavenly King Hall, the Worship Pavilion, the Worship Courtyard, the Great Hall, the Sangpeng Ruins, the Ganlu Ordination Platform, the Sutra Pavilion, etc. along the central axis. In addition, there are stone towers on the east and west sides and two corridors on the east and west sides.
There is a stone on the east side of the West Tower of Kaiyuan Temple, on which only the word "heart" is engraved. What is strange is that the dot in the middle of the word "heart" falls below. It is said that this stone is also called "Reassurance Stone" and it existed in the Tang Dynasty. And changing the dot in the heart to the bottom means that you can let go of all your troubles and let go of everything.
