Wat Pa Pradu

Wat Pa Pradu, Rayong Province
This is the most unusual reclining Buddha in Thailand. Normally, when a reclining Buddha image is built, it is usually built lying on its right side, but the reclining Buddha image at Wat Pa Pradu is built lying on its left side.
It is 11.95 meters long and 3.60 meters high. Judging from the hair, hairline, and robes, it is estimated that it was built during the Ayutthaya period. It is considered one of the oldest Buddha images in Rayong.
Inside the temple, there is an old chapel that is over 100 years old, which was influenced by Chinese art. Under the chapel, there is a space for people to crawl under the chapel. It is believed that if you crawl under it, you will be safe and protected from all dangers. Below, there is a space to view the principal Buddha image. On the right-hand side, there are 9 ancient nimit balls. If you rub all 9 nimit balls, you will experience happiness, prosperity, and success as desired.
There is a Phra Pa Lelaiyok shrine, where Phra Pa Lelaiyok was previously the principal Buddha image of the temple. It is 6.02 meters tall.
