Artistic Stroll Along the Baltic Sea

Take an artistic stroll along the Baltic Sea🏃‍♀️, Riga, this medieval city, is simply my favorite! This Old Town, listed as a World Cultural Heritage site, has every brick and stone telling a story~

🚶‍♀️A three-day artistic walk through the Old Town

【Day 1|Medieval Time Travel】
📍Riga Old Town (Maza Pils iela 5)
Stroll along the cobblestone streets, the 13th-century House of the Blackheads and the Gothic spire of St. Peter’s Church are breathtaking! I recommend climbing the St. Peter’s Church tower (open 9:00-18:00) to overlook the entire fairy-tale world of red rooftops.
🍴Lunch recommendation: 1221 Restaurant (Grēcinieku iela 3), try authentic Latvian stew.

【Day 2|Art Nouveau Exploration】
📍Alberta Street (Alberta iela)
This street is like an Art Nouveau architecture museum! It’s best to take photos before 10 a.m. when the sunlight casts beautiful shadows on the buildings. Don’t miss the restored 1904 building complex.
📍Latvian National Museum of Art (Jaņa Rozentāla laukums 1)
Houses a large collection of Baltic region artworks (closed on Tuesdays).

【Day 3|Central Market and Local Experience】
📍Riga Central Market (Nēģu iela 7)
One of the largest markets in Europe! Friday is recommended, the freshest day for locals to shop. The five huge airplane hangar buildings are full of amber, smoked fish, and black bread.
🍴Must-try: Lido (Elizabetes iela 65) buffet, eat to your heart’s content for about 10 euros per person.

🏨 Accommodation recommendation:
Stay at Neiburgs Hotel on the edge of the Old Town, converted from an Art Nouveau apartment building. All attractions are within a 15-minute walk, and the vintage bathtubs in the rooms are perfect for photos!

💡Useful tips:
1️⃣ The Old Town is mostly cobblestone streets, so be sure to wear comfortable flat shoes.
2️⃣ For amber souvenirs, buy them at the Central Market, which is 30% cheaper than at tourist spots.
3️⃣ In the Baltic Sea region, it gets dark by 3 p.m. in winter, while in summer, sunset is as late as 11 p.m., so plan your itinerary according to the season.
